The the 6th annual Sufi Festival orgnised by Rafi Peer Theatre ends with excitment, joys and great appriciations for the artists and audiences here Saturday in Lahore.
The festival brought a rich variety of Sufi Music, from Pakistan .The Sufi performances were from all the four provinces of Pakistan, and diverse range of Sufi singers and musicians had been featured in the festival, close to 300.
The festival took place at Peeru's Cafe and the Museum of Puppetry from April 30th to 2nd may. The cafe now plays a cultural role with concerts, puppetry, theatre and music events, last year's festival at this venue was a big success we continue to support this tradition.
Faizaan Peerzada, Director, Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop said, "we are hopeful that such festivals with devotional practices, prayers will bless all of us with tolerance, wisdom and a light to a new direction".
"The idea for the festival is based on Sufism's message of peace and unity and the fact that, in today's world of increasing division and disparity, the message of Sufi music should heard throughout the world. Sufi Music has the ability to cross all geographical, national, religious, and language barriers, and should thus be used as an instrument of spiritual renewal that, in today's world of increasing division and disparity, the message of music should be heard throughout the world".
Tssneem Peerzada, the meduia coodinator said that the festival had given a great chance to the artistes to explore and furnish their hidden capabilities. She Said the theatre had intriduced great Sufi mucician to the nation who were the real jewals of the nation. She said the theatre had made Zahoor Sain like great Sufi mucician who were not known to the people before.
